Ryan Fiorenzi is the first black belt in Bjj in Michigan, and is also the highest ranked. He earned his belt from Rigan and Roger Machado.
He is the author of “Grappler’s Handbook Volume 1: Training Principles and Strategies for Success,” as well as several dvds.
He opened East West Martial Arts in Canton, Michigan, in 1997. He has trained with some of the greatest grapplers in the world: the Machado brothers: Rigan, Roger, John, Carlos, & Jean-Jacques; Gokor Chivichyan, Saulo Ribeiro, Xande Ribeiro, Ricardo De La Riva, Rico Chipparelli, Royce Gracie, Rodrigo Medeiros, Demian Maia, Silvio Behring, Marcio Corletta, Erik Paulson, David Meyer, Chris Haueter, and many others.
He also holds a black sash in Kung Fu, and has trained in many martial arts, including: Judo, Wing Chun, Boxing, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Silat, Jeet Kune Do, Tai Chi, Aikido, Shoring Ryu Karate, Enshin Karate, Isshinryu Karate, Arnis, Kali, and Sambo.
A graduate of the University of Michigan with an Asian Studies Degree, he has been studying Eastern Philosophy since he began martial arts at age 13. He has also been a student of yoga meditation for over 20 years.
